What cause is that you say? Simply stated, creativity and sustainability in all that we do.

What started in 1989 as a passion to offer our clientele something other than massed produced, adjunct laden, fizzy yellow beers has developed into an all-encompassing desire to do the right thing every time we have a choice to make.

Beer:  We choose to let creativity reign as we make a wide variety of standard and experimental    
beer styles. This out of the box spirit drives our brew staff, challenges our clientele and inspires
our kitchen to create flavorful, seasonal cuisine to pair with our beers.

Responsibly Raised Meats:  Rather than sourcing our meats from factory farms we choose to
support those farms that treat their animals humanely, feed them all naturally and don’t use growth
hormones or antibiotics.

Local Organic Produce: Whenever possible we choose farmers who are close by and take the long
view with respect to their farms and the stewardship of their land.  Their goal of sustainable har
vests year after year through crop rotations and natural fertilizers creates safer, healthier, tastier food.

Sustainable Seafood: We choose only those species of fish whose stocks are stable and whose
origins are verifiable.  Whenever possible we buy directly from the fisherman themselves.

Green Business Practices: We choose to recycle everything possible, compost all table scraps, 
donate our spent brewery grain for animal feed, use environmentally friendly cleaning supplies and
lessen electricity use with LED lighting.
Local Community: By choosing to support local suppliers we shorten supply chains and thereby  
lessen the environmental impact of transportation.  We help to make these businesses viable to insure
long term proximity to urban areas.  Most importantly, we support real people, our neighbors and
kindred spirits, trying to provide fresh, high quality, healthy ingredients for you!

And ultimately we aim to have ‘the cause’ manifest right here at the table with YOU, and all our other amazing and super cool customers tossing back a couple of handcrafted CBC beers and enjoying a delicious meal, prepared with care and attention, with only the freshest ingredients available and served by a member of our CBC family.
