Great Pumpkin Fest 2009 - Holy Smokes!
The CBC Great Pumpkin Fest 2009 was a huge success! A million thanks to all the great folks who came and waited in the pumpkin patch with us for the arrival of the Great Pumpkin, and what an amazing spectacle it was. The Monks of the Order of the Gourd accompanied the Great Pumpkin (220 pounds!) in a parade through CBC, led by Miss Pumpkin Ale 2009, our own Megan Parisi. Clouds of fog and Gregorian chants heralded the tapping of the Great Pumpkin, who yielded an incredible amount of ale for all the good partygoing boys and girls. A special thank you to our friend Woody Lancaster, who grew this year’s beautiful great white pumpkin for us.
By all accounts the Fest was smashing (heheh), but we’d love to hear your comments and any highlights you feel are worth mentioning, so email us and let us know what you think. The Great Pumpkin Festival 2010 will be even bigger and better!!!
We’ve got a little bit o’ pumpkin beer left from our guest breweries, so come in and check ‘em out. On tap now are Dogfish Head‘s Punkin’ Ale, Clipper City‘s Imperial Pumpkin, and Elysian‘s Mr. Yuck. Also available are CBC’s Pumpkin Berlinerweisse and cask-conditioned Black Magic Stout (both created especially for the GPF), and our own Great Pumpkin Ale, Olde Pumpkin Porter, and Biere de Gourde. Coming up at any moment will be Cape Ann‘s Pumpkin Stout, Weyerbacher‘s Imperial Pumpkin, and Southern Tier‘s PumKing.
